What is your definition of success?
How will you know if you have achieved it? How did your definition of it come to be what it is?
Has it changed over the years?
My definition has changed a lot over the years. Like any other little kid when I was young I thought success was having a lot of money. Then as I got a little bit older I thought to be success you need to be super smart or have a fancy job like a lawyer or doctor of some sort to be success full. But now as im older and I look at things from a mature point of view I think the definition of success is just to be happy with who you are or what you do. My definition has changed over the years because I started to realize if your happy and do what you love to do then your fine. I think if you set a goal and you reach that goal then that is part of success. I think once you achieve your goal you realized what success can be. A lot of people have there own definition of success but I think the majority of people have the same definition as me, If you just set a foal or if your happy with what you do then that is success. For me to be success full I think I need to set a goal and work hard at it so achieve that goal.
My definition of success, doing something that you want to do with your life. And liven how you want to live and being happy. How you know when you have achieved it, is when you know what you want and getting it. Like if you want to make 60,000 a year and have a descent size house with 2 cars, and you do it in a good time frame of your life that is being successful in my book. It came to that because I seen people that didn’t have millions of dollars, and wasn’t on TV and they were still happy with what they had. They didn’t have too much and not less, but they had what they wanted. Yes my definition of success used to be having a lot of cars, money and clothes, and types of stuff like that. And it used to be that when I was young and dumb, but it has changed when I got to high school. And started to know what I was talking about.
My definition of success would be fulfilling your personal goals and being satisfied with yourself. Not so much having material things, but living up to your expectations. I guess you'll know if you've achieved success when you sense it. When you're happy with your life, then you're successful. If you're not okay with you're life, well then you're not successful. You might as well just be a loser your whole life or eat cookies and milk with mommy back home i guess. I came up with that definition from common sense. Everyone has their own perception of it and mine is having inner peace. I'm the next Ghandi with the secrets to life, just kidding. I can't say whether it's changed over the years because each person is different. Maybe overall it's changed to more meaningless material life success, not true successfulness with the pursuit of happiness.
Success is when you are doing good in whatever it is you are doing or trying to accomplish. When you have achieved success you will know because you will be happy with what you have worked for and that could either be in school, college, work or just anything personal you doing for yourself. This is my definition of success because simply this is what Ive come to believe, in my eyes, is success. When I was really younger when I heard success I thought of having money and for some odd reason white people. But now as Im more mature and have gone through life I know success is not just about money. Its about being satisfied with your own personal achievements in whatever they may be.
Success is a fairly broad term, it is custom to each individual person. Success means figuring out what you want in this crazy thing called life and doing everything you can to achieve it. For me, success is based basically around love. Success to me, in my life, would be falling in love, getting married and starting a family. Along with that, it would be achieving my ultimate goal of owning my own daycare, because I love being around kids. It would be going to college to get the degrees required to do so, and providing for my family with the money I would make. To me, there are many different categories of success, for example, my two successes I just mentioned were career goals and lifestyle goals. I also have a smaller, but still important, goal of living life to the fullest, if I were to be able to cross off everything on my bucket list, I would consider myself extremely successful, but even accomplishing a few would be successful. For me, success can be bended and twisted to anything. Even if I don't reach my daycare goal, or my big family, perfect-home, picture-perfect-family goal, and I end up married with one kid and a job that pays the bills, I'd still be successful. Success to me doesn't mean money, or fame, or fortune. Success means living, doing, dreaming, believing, and accomplishing. I do every single one of those things every day so right now, as I type this, I am a very successful young lady. I go to school everyday and excel, I live life carefree and happily, I do what I feel is right, what my heart and mind agree on doing, I dream like there's no tomorrow and wish for the best, I believe that anything can happen with the right amount of time and effort, and I accomplish my toughest of goals little by little every day. I may not be rolling in dough, I may not be hit on by every gorgeous guy in the world, I may not have a mansion or ten cars, but I have my life, and I have my dreams. I know what I want, and I know what I must do to get what I want, and to me, that is success; figuring out what you want and working towards it.
My definition for success came from my dad; I got it from him because it went well with the word. Definition for success to me is when you start something and you find a way to complete whatever you started. It’s not that long but it kind of goes with the word because to me you are not successful unless you finish or get to what you are reaching for. My way of looking at it is that if I do not get finish a project or finish a race or win the game, I’m not successful. I take whatever I do serious and to me the term of success is to reach the end of whatever you start. My definition has been the same for years and I will never change it just because it helps me finish what I am doing. If I do not finish what I started, I feel like I’m a quitter and a failure. I may not be because I gave the effort, but no matter what it is, I won’t stop trying until I get to the end of whatever I started. Like a carpenter, they start a house or a building, they have to finish it. Its part of their job, this past year with football, I didn’t stop trying in the state championship game just because I wasn’t finished and I still wanted to keep going. My definition to success is something that is a big thing because to me if I’m not first, I’m last and I don’t take last place.
My definition of success is to achieve what you want out of life. Not necessarily career wise or money wise more in the factor as happiness. I believe you know that you have succeeded in life when you’re happy with what you have and no longer have to keep working for what you believe you need because you already have it, you have already succeeded in getting what you always wanted. If you do keep going then it’s just because you want to continue to work hard to better your success. You will know that you have achieved success when you can wake up in the morning and know that you have succeeded in life, that if you where to die tomorrow then you at least know you have done something with your life, your happy, and in your mind have succeeded. The way I define success came to be because over time I realized that what people told me was “success” really wasn’t and it sometimes just made you miserable. For example I was told that to succeed you need to go to a great college and work in a big office making money but truthfully sometimes that just makes you lonely even if you do have everything you “wanted” but not necessarily what you needed. Over the years yes my definition of success changed. I use to want to be a big lawyer and make good money to have a big house and a great car. To me that was what I had to do to succeed in life and now I want to be a pediatric nurse practitioner to care for kids and have just a descent and happy life, that’s all I need to succeed. And with due time I know I will have success.
My definition of success is when you reached your level of satisfaction in life. When you look back and are proud of what you have done in the past and present to get to where you’re at now. By the way I have seen how life’s challenge present themselves to people close to me and what they think of it and that’s how I came to my own definition of success no it has not changed for me it has been the same for years.
To me success is a powerful word when you grow up. People always say that guy or that girl is successful because of their job and what they do in life. I feel that success full is not about being the president or making a lot of money, it’s about your family and if you have done your best to make them happy. That’s what I know as success is. I will know when success is when my I can make a family of my own and know that I’m there for them no matter what and that they can talk to me about any little thing in life and that I know that my parents are happy to the end of their life’s because of the way they have raised me and I just want to make them happy. I found this out by growing up with my parents and then see how the world is so cold and heartless and that my family was there to help me through not even half of it yet. My family is a major part in my life and I want to have the same impact on my children as my parents did for me because then I will know I’m a successful person no matter what.
There are alot of situations that can describe a moment of success. Success makes me think of accomplishing my nearest possible goal. To think of success means to have gained some further knowledge of life. Controlling your thoughts controls your actions and good thoughts are success. Whenever you accomplish a goal you have set for yourself it leads to more goals and eventually long term goals start getting reached. Success just seems to have a natural way of growing. Every time you succeed you have some plan that has gone correctly. By having a plan that goes correctly gives you some further knowledge to your decision making process. Learning from not succeeding is a way to gain knowledge as well and that is a form of my success. Always taking a situation and making the best you can out of it is a good thought process. When you have a positive outlook their can be less doubt in yourself so you tend not to hold back. After you don't hold back you learn to use your full potential. Giving it your all sometimes is just a form of success in its self. I hope that one day my plan of success works out and that is my way of calling success whatever i make it.
My definition of success would be going for your goal and fulfilling it and being happy while doing it. You will know when you have achieved it when you’re happy with what you are doing and don’t regret anything to get there. My own personal definition for success came from my mother and how she brought me up. She taught me that success is not only becoming rich it is also about your happiness while doing it. Every generation I think the definition of success changes only because, television and videos. They watch celebrities become rich and they think that is being successful not knowing what it brings and what those celebrities are going through behind closed doors. To the generation that falls under that category just know if your happy with the career you are doing when you get older, its paying bills, and keeping food on the tables for you and your family than you are VERY successful.
My definition of success is living comfortably the way you want to live, without any regrets of how you gained that success. I believe that i will know i have achieved success when i can sit and say that i am satisfied with what i have. I will have no regrets , and will be able to raise a family and die in peace. A lot of people don't get to say they did everything they wanted and thats why their definition of success is so hard to achieve , but mines is simple because i have come to realize that i wont be able to do everything i want to do in life , and im fine with that as long as its not something i will regret. My definition of success has changed over the years because i used to think that success is when your rich and can be able to buy a lot of cars and a mansion, but i have come to realize that materials things don't make success but that i make my own success , and that means whatever happens , as long as i am happy in the end i am successful.
My definition of success is to happy at the end of the day as frequently as possible whether that means being rich with a whole lot of money, women, cars and kids or just having a decent paying job with a beautiful wife to come home to at the end of the day and a couple kids. I would definitely consider either one as a success as long as I’m happy the main thing that everyone strives for is to be happy that how humans spend their whole lives on the pursuit of happiness so as if I would be able to manage happiness then I would have to say that I would be considered a huge success in my opinion. But most likely I wouldn’t be happy unless I had a good amount of money in the bank so in order for me to reach happiness I would have to have a high paying job and a pretty wife or girl friend because I don’t think I would be happy if I was alone or if I was with an ugly girl. Also in order to be happy and consider myself a success I think I would have to have around 2 kids because I want to have children in the future but I’m not ready for that right now. Those are the things I want to accomplish in my future in order to be considered a success, but as for being a success as a teenager I thing I have already achieved that, I’m doing pretty good in school and i have a clean record and decent amount of friends also I have my own car so I think I’m kind of successful for the average 17 year old I know I’m doing better than most of the kids I see out here in the world. I think I realize I’m a success when I have all the things I’ve listed a good job, a women by my side , and some kids and a whole lot of money. At the end of each day ill know if I’m success full or if I’m a failure. I’m not really sure how my definition of success cam e to be its not really like someone told me it or something like that its just from my life experience and people I’ve met that let me know what I have to do in order for me to be a success and the things I will need/want to have. My opinion of success has kind of changed over the years when I was younger I thought you were successful if you had hundreds of women and millions of dollars and fast cars and a big house and thought that if Anyone who didn’t achieve that was a failure so my definition of success kind of lowered because I realized that not everyone can achieve that and if don’t have all that it doesn’t make them a failure so my definition got switched into what it is today
Success is what i call being satisfied with what goals i have achieved and what i obtained from them. I think theres levels of success from lower to higher age groups involving psychollogical and even financial status. To me, success has had a solid base, it has only been complimented over the years. You can be rich and healthy and to some people that may be success, but to me it's really about having stability, emotionally and financially because you could have all the money in the world and still be unhappy. For example, my dad, i believe he's the one i look up the most to because he started out as a regular taxi driver and now he's the administrator of his taxi company, even with problems at home, it never stopped him from succeeding at his workplace. Even though our family is broken up now, he's satisfied because all of his children support him because Peru is a country with a lot less opportunities. So, seeing all that made me build a solid base to what i believe success is because i would be proud of myself if i was him.
Let’s see my definition of success is that when you have achieved something that you really wanted to do or happened. My definition of success came to be from the feeling I get every time finish or accomplish something I wanted to do. And how I know when I have succeeded in something is when I get that feeling. Of accomplishment and that I have done right or have fixed something wrong and that is the best feeling in the world. And my definition has not really changed over the years it’s just been the same .So therefore accomplishing or achieving is success in my book.
My definition of success: A.)Accomplishing something that obstacles over the course of a life that pointed towards preventing that milestone.
B.)To be happy where one is at any point in their life.
I'll know I've achievied success when I'm out living on my own able to support myself in a middle class life style. While also to be happy overal with my life and the choices I made to that point.
I'd have to say that my definition of my sucess has changed over time. When I was younger I used to think sucess was being older, more rich that a person could possibly imagine, while not caring about other people. As I've gorwn I've realized that becoming rich is a nice goal but doesn't come with out hard work.
My definition of sucess is when you achive your dreams. Like my greatest success would be becoming an Animater and having a family. For others it might just be to graduate high school or be some big important football/basketball player. I think you can tell when you achive it because you feel like theirs nothing more for you to do than be happy. My definition of success has changed over the years like many people, i thought success could only be achived through being famous or loaded with money but over time that definition has changed.
To me success is being happy with where you are at in life. There are no set rules of success because it is all up to the individual. Setting goals and accomplishing those goals counts as success no matter how small they are, you are happy that you fulfilled your own goal. Only you know that you have succeeded and that is all that matters. When you are satisfied with how your life is now or how a problem turned out is success to me. I used to think being successful was making a lot of money and my views have changed quite a bit. It does not matter if you make a lot of money or have a “respected” job; as long as you are happy then you are where you need to be. I think differently now because I used to expect too much from myself thinking that I need to grow up and make a ton of money. Now I know that success depends on my happiness and where I want to be in life, as long as I reach my goals ill be fine.
Everyone has their own definition of success. Some may be the same, but most will vary. My definition of success we be to be happy and satisfied. I choose those two words for specific reasons. If you are happy with everything you have done and accomplished in your life the you are successful to yourself. You are satisfied with the journey you have been through and everything you have become then you have been successful. As long as you try your hardest and don’t settle for anything less then you have reached success in your life. Success is something you have work very hard at and you have always wanted to do or a level you have always wanted to reach. Success isn’t just about having a lot of money. What if that person who has a lot of money did not do the things he always wanted to do, or become the person they always wanted to become? They may say the are not successful because they didn’t accomplish what they wanted to accomplished. This is just what success means to me. How about you?
My definition of success is the quality and happiness of life. I don’t care how much money you have because it’s all meaningless unless you’re happy with your life. You can be on top of everything but that doesn’t make you successful. A good example is me and my tennis. I made it to number one this year but I still haven’t enjoyed much of it at all because my competition is so much better then me. I don’t feel happy and in turn I don’t feel successful. In the summer time I run my own business and I pull in a lot of money. The work is hard but I feel successful because I can afford to do a lot of stuff. I get to spend my time with people im close to and that’s what truly makes me happy. I could care less about how much money I have because ive experienced what it can do to a person. It makes them different and in the end they turn out to be lonely. I used to think money was the key, but after growing up and seeing much poorer families having better quality lives, that quickly changed. Its all about what you have built in your life time. Not just your house, but the way you’ve built yourself as a person and what you can say you’ve done.
My defintion of success is achieving things in life that you have set your mind to and what you want in life. It dont mean i have to be the ricjest person in the wotld its what make me happy. I will be happy with just a job that makes me happy and as long as i have my family everything will be ok. I love having a difficult challenge in my life and i love to over come them, life is not life with out challenges. How i think i have achieved success is doing good at everything and when the day is over i know i have tryed my hardest and done my best to do everything possable to make it right. Success is what everything that people dream of and when you achieve it its the most amazing thing in the world. With out the help of my family and people in school i could not have done as good as i have been doing. Not a lot of people have a life like mine its been a really hard couple of years on my family but we have been over comming them step by step and thats success in my eyes. My definition of success came to be from life today not knowing what i know today i would not be the person i am today. I try almost my hardest and yes i said almost to be who i want to be and not let noone change me. And i dont look at things that my family has done for me i look at success at things that i achieve and overcome in life. Not only to better myself but to make my life better. I dont think that my deffinition of success has changed over the years i still do things that make me who i am and do things that are going to be a better person in life.....
success is whatever you achieve in whatever you were doing. success could be the term used for accomplishing something you worked hard for. like school for example.. im going to graduate high school with the thought of leaving and never coming back, i got to this graduation time by the great success of my english teacher! ive been very successful all my life. success is not something that is handed to you, its something you work hard for. its like asking your boss for a years pay when you have only been there for 6 months. is he going to give it to you? probably not, but are you going to work for your years pay in good time? i hope so. i remember when i was a tiny little 8th grader happier than ever going into high school, i thought i was the shit. that was 4 years ago and my definition of success still has the same partain to its ability
My defintion of success would be someone that doesn't live in denial about their lives, is happy, and lives in peace. Someone that doesn't complain about how miserable their life is. Success to me is someone that can also look back and be happy and feel accomplished about what they have, and how far they have come. I will know that I have achieved it when I live my dream life which would be a forensic psychologist. over the years it never changed but the way I came up with this definition is by the environment I was surrounded by. Everyday that I go to work I hear people complain about their lives and how they hate it Or how they wish they could've become something better and i always think to myself I don't want to be that person. I wanna live happy and peaceful wit no worries or regrets.
My definition of success is being stable and happy with everything you have. Most people know when they reach that point in their life when they do not want to excel any more and they are settled down. I don’t think that many people feel as if they are successful though because everyone always changes their standards and sets the bar higher. I got my definition of success because I would happy I hit that point in my life and didn’t have any stress and I could just enjoy the things around me. I don’t want to go though my life struggling from paycheck to paycheck I would just like to have a good career and relax. I don’t think my opinon has really changed over the years but id say I got it from my father because I see how hard he works and how he is always thankful for all of the blessings that our family has and he can support my family and be happy with everthiny that he has.
Everbody has their own defintion of success. Some might have the same but my defintion is accomplishing your dream or goal. Knowing that you happy in what ever you are doing that could be a good or bad way. If you are happy in what you achieve in life then you made yourself successful by making yourself happy in life. Success is something you really have to work on in order of reaching it. My defintion came to be what it is because thats how you become or get to be succesful. There is no other way to explaiin it. Thats what i think. When i was younger i use to think success meant having a big job and living in a big house driving the fancy cars bbut naw thats not even what its about. My defintion has changed to just making your dreams or goals to a reality. I just wanna be succesful.
my definition of success would be achieving the things/goals that you have set out to reach for yourself. If you quit at something then you are not in any way successful. Success is about not giving up, its very much like having a dream, you wanting to become something and not giving up until the dream comes true. for ex, if one one wants to become a singer they do whatever it takes to get to where they want to be. Also to me success is being happy: if your happy with your life then your successful, it means that you have done something right to be where you are. That is also how you know that you have achieved success. My definition of success became what it is from learning and threw other people dreams/experiences. Some of us even talked about this in school (Ms.Bunje's) that's is also where you realize and learn more abou0t what success is and hearing others beliefs in what success is. My definiton of success has not change over the years. i think it will saty the same from now as im writting this, to even 10 years from now. Everyone has their own definiton of success and that is mine.
My definition of success would be having a family and a well payed job to cover in life to live healthy. Going to college would be another kind of definition of success to me. For example when i played soccer my goal was never give up and striving to win for our team. To be successful in eyes was going for a victory win, even if we did lose, we would still be successful in my eyes because no one gave up. Knowing that i or someone has achieved being successful is having a sense of pride inside. Also knowing that what we have done is good and not failing at something, but instead trying harder to reach goals to be successful. My definition of success came to be by inspiration of my dad because he has done so many things that you couldn't even think of, and no matter how hard it got he never gave up and kept striving for his success. As i get older i go threw even more experiences and my definition of success would change in better ways and continue to grow depending on the obstacles that i face.
Success is something I haven't fully understood in my life yet. I started to recognize it around thirteen. I remember the first real feeling of accomplishment I had from playing football with my older brother and the mindset like something had to get done on the field. After that I started to come into more things that gave me this feeling. So in all I guess that my view of success always changes depending on what needs to get done in life.
Currently my definition would be to know that my family is taken care of and secure. Also happiness for myself and family. I can't ever really achieve these goals fully but success in my eyes isn't something like a trophy or a title earned, but more a feeling of self gratification. So I guess I'd know success for a time but things would always change, but my only fear is it'll change for the worst.
Although I have not been around successful people I still think I can do it. Success to me is reaching your dreams or personal goals at a later time in life. Everyone thinks they have to be like everyone else, so money, music and sports would help them get success. It’s not about that at all, you need an education, then that will lead to a great job, the money will then come after that. My definition has always been the same. I just want to make my family happy and be the best I can be. It’s not all about fame, or having your name in the papers. If you don’t have a future in sports, music, or anything else, you have to get an education for a backup plan. It has changed because I always use to think money was everything. It’s not; money could turn you into a whole different person that you’re not. You have to think about Outcomes not Incomes.
My definition of success, doing something that you want to do with your life.It is like a gaol in its way. I will know when i had achieved it, when im playing in the NBA for any team. My definition of it came to be what it is, by when you want to achieve something your usaully try to find a waythe be successful at the special thing. No my goal will ways be to play in he NBA so when i get there, that means the i will be sucessful"sucess". I think with basketball i probably wouldn't try to be successful in the world but i know thats bad an all but everyone isn't perfect. im going to my best to myself be that special one.
Success to me is basically your favorable outcome and your future. Most people want there outcome to have a good job and be rich. Mines is a little different. I really dont care about being rich but i do care about having alot of money. My goals to being successful is to graduate high school and goto the airforce to be a pilot. Thats majority of my mission to be successful. Other then that i atleast want to make more then $80,000 a yr and live i good life a with a beautiful family. My plan may take a long time but if i keep my head up and keep moving foward i feel as thow i will complete my mission to be successful

ReplyDeleteMy definition for success came from my dad; I got it from him because it went well with the word.

ReplyDeleteMy definition of success is to achieve what you want out of life.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success is when you reached your level of satisfaction in life. When you look back and are proud of what you have done in the past and present to get to where you’re at now. By the way I have seen how life’s challenge present themselves to people close to me and what they think of it and that’s how I came to my own definition of success no it has not changed for me it has been the same for years.
ReplyDeleteTo me success is a powerful word when you grow up.
ReplyDeleteThere are alot of situations that can describe a moment of success.
ReplyDeleteI hope that one day my plan of success works out and that is my way of calling success whatever i make it.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success is living comfortably the way you want to live, without any regrets of how you gained that success.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success is to happy at the end of the day as frequently as possible whether that means being rich with a whole lot of money, women, cars and kids or just having a decent paying job with a beautiful wife to come home to at the end of the day and a couple kids.
ReplyDeleteSuccess is what i call being satisfied with what goals i have achieved and what i obtained from them.
ReplyDeleteLet’s see my definition of success is that when you have achieved something that you really wanted to do or happened.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success:
ReplyDeleteA.)Accomplishing something that obstacles over the course of a life that pointed towards preventing that milestone.

ReplyDeleteMy definition of sucess is when you achive your dreams.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has their own definition of success.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success is the quality and happiness of life.
ReplyDeleteMy defintion of success is achieving things in life that you have set your mind to and what you want in life.
ReplyDeletesuccess is whatever you achieve in whatever you were doing. success could be the term used for accomplishing something you worked hard for. like school for example.. im going to graduate high school with the thought of leaving and never coming back, i got to this graduation time by the great success of my english teacher! ive been very successful all my life. success is not something that is handed to you, its something you work hard for. its like asking your boss for a years pay when you have only been there for 6 months. is he going to give it to you? probably not, but are you going to work for your years pay in good time? i hope so. i remember when i was a tiny little 8th grader happier than ever going into high school, i thought i was the shit. that was 4 years ago and my definition of success still has the same partain to its ability
ReplyDeleteMy defintion of success would be someone that doesn't live in denial about their lives, is happy, and lives in peace.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success is being stable and happy with everything you have.
ReplyDeleteEverbody has their own defintion of success.
ReplyDeletemy definition of success would be achieving the things/goals that you have set out to reach for yourself.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success would be having a family and a well payed job to cover in life to live healthy.
ReplyDeleteSuccess is something I haven't fully understood in my life yet. I started to recognize it around thirteen. I remember the first real feeling of accomplishment I had from playing football with my older brother and the mindset like something had to get done on the field. After that I started to come into more things that gave me this feeling. So in all I guess that my view of success always changes depending on what needs to get done in life.
ReplyDeleteCurrently my definition would be to know that my family is taken care of and secure.
ReplyDeleteMy definition of success, doing something that you want to do with your life.It is like a gaol in its way.
ReplyDeleteSuccess to me is basically your favorable outcome and your future.
